Everything is in German or French when I load up my internet browser here. Facebook's in French, this page in German, etc, and then it suddenly switches to English.

I'll write a better entry on my trip later. I shouldn't be writing now anyway, but I just wanted to say, that even though this vacation has thrown me some pretty nasty punches, it's all good in the end.

Die Schweiz

Leaving on a jet plane for Switzerland tomorrow. So excited! Get in Saturday, just in time to celebrate mother's birthday. I'm so looking forward to skiing once more! (I haven't since...well...that time I fell off the chairlift).

I yearn to have been able to be in DC at the time, yet the feeling and emotion there penetrated through the television. Tears were shed, joy was felt, and the sun has been shining ever since. Huzzah for President Barack Obama!

Bush & Co

They should not be allowed to leave office with any shred of dignity. Impeach! Impeach! There's still time!

Le dernier trappeur

J'avais totalement oublié ce film. Je l'avais vu à Kyoto et maintenant on ne peut pas le trouver.

Becoming Jane

Jane Austen makes me tear up. I just can't seem to help it.

I should have been born in a different time.

Holy shnikys. I feel like I've struck gold.

There's a whole bloody family branch of mine on facebook, and it just warms my heart. Birdie's Bobby, his wife Cynthia, their daughters Eve and Shelley, and their children Jonathan, Moss, and Sarah are all on it. And a member of the Black family is on it, too! I am more hesitant to add him, however, as I only met him the one time, he may not remember me, but really he should, I mean it was quite out of the ordinary and I'm sure my aunt's kept in touch with him. As nice as that is it is also frightening, as who knows what she's been saying about myself or my mother for that matter to the Black family.

I love family. When your immediate is so small, you really learn to appreciate it when you come across the other members.

Nothing brings tears to my eyes and warmth to my heart like this photo:

The one with the infectious smile at the center is my beautiful grandmother.

D in Real Life

I am in love with this sound track. If I were to watch the movie a million times I'd never tire. Automatic smile on my face when I hear the music of Sondre Lerche and Regina Spektor.

My hands are shaking from carrying this torch. From carrying this torch for you.

It makes me feel content and loved. I don't know how, but it does. Like being curled up in a warm blanket on a couch next to a cold window, snowy pines swaying outside with the wind.

New Year

Last night was great. I lost my voice after all that singing.

I am exhausted, purple, and sore.
